Courses
As a specialist ESOL provider, Pathways International offers daytime and evening courses in different locations throughout the local region, including Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth and Dorchester.
Classes are typically small ( 8 to 10 learners on average ) with each course delivered by a Subject Specialist Tutor assisted by a volunteer offering Learner Support in order to maximise the individual attention afforded to each learner.

- ESOL Skills for Life ( subject to eligibility )
Courses are mapped against the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum and are offered at Entry Levels 1 to 3 and Levels 1 and 2. All learners work towards the City and Guilds ESOL Certificate Skills for Life. Learners can enrol for courses in the morning afternoon or evening, subject to availability. - ESOL for Citizenship
Aspects of ESOL for Citizenship are integrated into the Skills for Life ESOL course delivery. This course can also be delivered as a stand-alone on demand. - ESOL for the Family (for women with pre-school children )
ESOL for Women
These tailored courses are designed to take account of cultural sensitivities through the provision of ESOL within a single-sex environment. Courses are run at times convenient to the learner. Childcare is arranged alongside the ESOL provision. All staff are CRB checked.
- ESOL for UASC
In recognition of the unique needs of this particularly vulnerable group, Pathways International prioritises their admission wherever possible. Pathways International works in partnership with those statutory bodies and VCS organisations charged with the care of those UASC referred to our provision. Within the company there is now a repository of experience and knowledge gained through working with this group over years. All staff are CRB checked. There are two options :- ESOL Skills for Life
Individual learners are integrated into existing ESOL Skills for Life courses. - ESOL Pathways
Subject to demand, a tailored provision can delivered. With ESOL at its core, this course provides progressive vocational and skills development pathways for each individual learner. Realistic and deliverable objectives are set for each learner. Outcomes are both hard (i.e. a Skills for Life ESOL Certificate) and soft ( i.e. personal and social skills development, e.g. timekeeping ).The provision is complimented by an integrated enhancement programme of outdoor and indoor sports and activities.
This varied programme is designed to engage these young learners in an enjoyable, motivating and meaningful manner which is tuned to their specific needs and to prepare them practically for the consequences of whichever legal outcome awaits them.

ESOL for Women

- ESOL in the Workplace
These tailored courses are delivered in the workplace at a time which is convenient to both employer and employee. The following courses can also be delivered on demand either as stand-alone components or as an integrated part of an enhanced delivery:
- ESOL for Food Hygeine and Safety
- ESOL for Health and Safety
- ESOL for First Aid
